These Natural Architect Blocks are an open-ended and colourful option for the classroom. They are made from beechwood blocks are excellent for loose parts play. This set of architect blocks includes 28 nesting blocks in a natural wooden finish. The largest block measures 15cm wide. The height of the triangle set measures 15cm and the square set measures 15cm. The rectangle set measures 15cm wide and the arch set measures 7.3cm high. All pieces have a wall thickness of 8mm. Suitable for children from the age of 12 months. Beautiful natural solid beechwood nesting shape sets with a natural finish to show the grain of the wood. The 4 geometric shapes are squares, rectangles, triangles and arches. The inner block in each nesting group is a solid 3D shape. Supports both fine and gross motor skill development along with early maths such as sequencing, sorting and pattern making. Imagination is needed to design rooms for filling with small world play people or animals and mathematical logic is required to sort by shape or size. Geometric properties of common shapes can also be explored – such as size and scale as well as using mathematical terms like larger, smaller, taller, wider etc; and for improving language skills and broadening descriptive vocabulary.
