The mirror is optically worked, and also comes with silvered back with protective coating. A convex mirror is a curved mirror in which the reflective surface bulges toward the light source. Convex mirrors reflect light outwards, therefore they are not used to focus light. The image is smaller than the object, but gets larger as the object approaches the mirror. One example of a convex mirror is the passenger side mirror of a car. Often, you will see a warning label on these mirrors stating “objects in the mirror are closer than they appear”. This is a direct effect of the distorting effects of the convex mirror on the distance perception.

Concave mirrors reflect light inward to one focal point. They are used to focus light. One of the most common uses of concave mirrors is in makeup mirrors, where the image is magnified. They are also used in reflecting telescopes, and often in headlights of cars and spotlights and torches.
