This wooden base ten units set consists of 100 units. It is a quality base ten set made from solid timber. Each unit measures 1 cm (L) x 1 cm (H) x 1 cm (W). Base ten blocks are a versatile maths manipulative to introduce students to basic key maths concepts including addition, subtraction, number sense, place value and counting. Students can use the base ten units in combination with base ten longs (sold separately), base ten flats (sold separately) and base ten cubes (sold separately). The units represent 1, the longs represent 10, the flats represent 100 and the cubes represent 1000. Students can use the blocks to practice with place value.

They can also use the blocks to create different patterns. When using longs in combination with other base ten units, flats or cubes, students can practice with addition and subtraction of larger numbers. They are also great for free play and allows children to build structures with base ten. Use the different sized blocks for seriation or compare different lengths of the blocks or sets of blocks.
