A simple Lung Demonstrator model, which consists of a transparent plastic container, Y tube (trachea), Balloons (lungs), Rubber sheet (diaphragm), and instruction sheet (see PDF below). Use this model to show students how the lungs and diaphragm work, and how their movement impacts each other.

The diaphragm is a muscle just below the lungs that can pull down or push up. In doing this, it can increase or decrease the volume of the chest cavity. When the volume is increased, pressure in the chest cavity is lowered, and air rushes into the lungs to equalize the pressure. When the diaphragm pushes up and decreases the volume of the chest cavity, the pressure inside increases. This means air must rush out of the lungs to equalize pressure. Using this model, you can demonstrate these principals to your students.

The Simple Lung Demonstrator Model is a high-quality, educational tool designed to help students and educators better understand how the human lungs work. This model features a transparent plastic chamber that represents the human lung cavity, two balloons that mimic the lungs, and a rubber sheet that mimics the action of the diaphragm during breathing. By pressing or pulling on the sheet, students can observe the flow of air in and out of the lung, and see how the lungs expand and contract during the breathing process.

This Lung Demonstrator Model is an excellent resource for anyone looking to learn more about human anatomy and the respiratory system. It is perfect for use in classrooms, labs, or other educational settings.
