Bright and colourful, these rhythm gymnastic ribbons will encourage children’s creativity and movement. Children can listen to the music and move to how they feel the music feels to them. This encourages creativity. The music is a guide for their creation. The ribbons bring an extension of their body. They learn to extend their movements down the arm to the ribbon. They can shake, spin, wave or create their own movements to allow the ribbon to sweep through the air. Using rhythm ribbons develop children’s flexibility, coordination as well as strengthening their balance. Rhythm ribbons are also fundamental for allowing children to be aware of their bodies and body space perception. While children jump and spin they learn to be aware of people and other children around them, allowing the children to feel a sense of being free while within the presence of other children. Children can coordinate their own dance routines which encourages children to work together, create a story line and use the rhythm ribbons and their dance movements to express the story through movement.
