Adam of the Road by Elizabeth Janet Gray is a Newbery Medal-winning adventure set in medieval England. Adam is a young boy who travels the roads of England with his father, a minstrel, and his dog, Nick. However, one day Adam’s dog is stolen, and his father vanishes. Alone, Adam wanders the roads he once traveled with his father searching for him.
